Myths we have been led to believe that have led us to unhealthy Levels of Exposure to manmade radiation
MYTH 1 – Electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation studies are only anecdotal.
Thousands of studies confirm the harm at today’s exposure levels to this manmade ‘non-ionizing’ radiation. The court case won against the FCC on Aug 13, 2021 included a filing of more than 11,000 pages of harm from wireless exposure, forcing the FCC and FDA to finally update 1996 outdated and inadequate guidelines.
MYTH 2 – The manmade radiation we are exposed to is ‘non-ionizing,’ so it is safe.
The up-to-date science consistently shows that it results in both single and double stand DNA breaks similar to ionizing radiation, it just goes about it differently. It inhibits our melatonin production (a powerful cancer fighter) and mitochondria levels (our energy stores) along with a slew of other harmful bio-chemical effects.
MYTH 3 – Children are not vulnerable to damaging health effects from EMF exposure.
Children have thinner skulls and smaller heads leading to deeper penetration of EMF radiation. They also have a longer life expectancy to accumulate cellular damage. Further, children’s cellular growth rate may make them more vulnerable to cellular mutations. We know children are more vulnerable to environmental toxins and need to be protected.
Myth 4 – Cell phone radiation is all we need to be concerned about.
A wide range of electromagnetic field exposures from electrical power and wireless technology have similar adverse health effects. Homes today are in a virtual soup of this radiation, with exposure worse than being in proximity to those ominous looking cell towers and power lines.
MYTH 5 – we would need to live in the dark ages to avoid this radiation.
The problem is our exposure is too much. Today's levels at our place of work, in the general environment, and in our homes is unhealthy. We are in these fields 24/7. The good news is there are many ways we can reduce this exposure and still enjoy modern living.
